Whale Tankers doubles up with Hazco Environmental

One of Scotland’s leading industrial services and liquid waste management companies, Hazco Environmental is taking delivery of two new Whale ADR vehicles - a large tipping tanker and a WhaleVac tanker.

With 14 Whale vehicles already within the Hazco fleet, both trailers have been built to the company’s exact specification and will be deployed on a variety of customer applications among numerous industries, including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, fish farming, shipping and the food and drink industry, as well as for the power and utilities sector.

The largest of the two vehicles is an ADR tipping tanker which includes a number of key features and benefits. A radio controlled fully hydraulic 150mm diameter suction loading boom enables ease of operation for the user and a load indicator system warns the operator when maximum GVW is reached. With a six-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine drive, the vehicle is also fitted with a Mistral MD630 series vacuum pressure pump with 630cfm and 1 bar pressure, and a 3100m3/h (1800cfm) liquid ring vacuum pump.

The second is an ADR WhaleVac, which is also a Type Approved Trailer with disc brakes and electronic braking. A total of four 500mm six clamp stainless steel manholes are fitted into the top of the tank and operator safety is provided via a Whale designed, full length hydraulic folding catwalk and handrail assembly. A hydraulic opening rear door is also part of the Hazco specification.

With a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine drive, the vehicle also features a Mistral 9 Series vacuum and pressure system, which is a continuous rated vacuum pump. A lightweight full-length aluminium hose ladder rack for easy hose storage.

Sam Torrens, Managing Director of Hazco Environmental, said: “Our latest two vehicles from Whale are destined for use on a range of projects at industrial and waste water treatment sites around the UK.

“Designed and built by Whale to our exact requirements, the vehicles will allow us to work efficiently on site to get the job done as quickly as possible – saving time for us and keeping disruption to a minimum for the customer.”

Chris Anderson, Commercial Director for Whale Tankers, added: “We have a long standing working relationship with Hazco Environmental as they have been a Whale customer since the company’s inception in 2000. Prior to this, we worked with Sam and his father at their previous company, Kelvin Tank Services, which they subsequently sold to UK Waste.

“We work very closely with Hazco’s team to determine their particular requirements and then develop a specification that will tick all their boxes. In addition, they can be confident of receiving the best possible build quality, coupled with full technical and aftersales support from us, which is why they keep coming back to Whale.”

Hazco Environmental is confident that, with the new tankers from Whale using the latest developments in technology, it can continue to serve its customers to provide quality, practical and cost effective industrial cleaning solutions.
