Wincanton's Compliance Standards recognised with Transport for London accreditation for second consecutive year

Wincanton, a leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, has been awarded the Transport for London Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze accreditation for its dedication to maintaining best practice standards across the business. This is the second year the business has received the bronze accreditation.

FORS is a voluntary certification scheme designed to ensure that fleet operators in London, and throughout the UK, work to high standards that go beyond the minimum legal requirements in areas such as health and safety and environmental impact.

Transport for London introduced FORS in 2008 in response to the high proportion of vulnerable road users involved in incidents with lorries. In achieving the Bronze accreditation, Wincanton has been able to demonstrate that all of its operations using vehicles over 3.5 tonnes meet FORS requirements to ensure a compliant and safe operation and improve road safety for vulnerable road users.

Dean Clamp, Wincanton’s health, safety, environmental and quality director, said: “Safety is a priority at Wincanton and a key consideration in everything that we do. We are committed to raising road safety standards, both for our drivers and other road users, and the FORS re-accreditation is testament to our commitment.”

Wincanton has developed a wider education programme for vulnerable road users to raise awareness of the restrictions and demands on lorry drivers which includes regular school visits.
