Yamato Scale Dataweigh, the world's leading manufacturer of multi-head weighers and checkweighers, has promoted Steven Spencer to sales manager, with responsibility for both sales growth and the UK regional sales team.
Based in Leeds at Yamato's UK headquarters, Steven will now oversee the work of the four managers operating below him whilst implementing future sales strategies and bolstering new product launches. Steven will also oversee for the businesses in Finland, Norway Sweden and South Africa plus Ireland.
Joining Yamato in 1994, Steven has been a part of the team since its inception and now has almost 20 years experience in the weighing sector under his belt. Prior to being offered a position at Yamato, Steven worked as a drawing office manager at Lock Inspection.
Speaking about what he hopes to achieve in his new role, Steven said: "I'm thrilled to take on the role of sales manager. It is a much more high-pressured role than my previous position, but I'm really ready for the challenge. I'm particularly looking forward to playing an instrumental part in the training and development of the new regional sales managers. It was a role I thoroughly enjoyed and I hope that I can impart some valuable insight from my experiences of the role onto the new team."
Steven's new position will see him reporting directly to the managing director, as well as setting sales targets for his team and helping Yamato expand into different markets.
