Your Call, the employee magazine for Yodel, the UK’s leading parcel delivery company, has been shortlisted in the Institute of Internal Communications’ North Region Awards.
Designed by Pages Creative, the objective of Your Call was to create a sense of community and shared values across all employees of Yodel, a new brand in the parcel delivery market which was created in 2010 through the acquisition of DHL Domestic by Home Delivery Network. The magazine features a mix of business and people stories delivered with on-brand page design, introducing employees to the new organisation and its values.
Your Call launched in December 2010, to help create a sense of unity in a new company made up of two businesses, which form a national network of sort centres and service centres.
Adam Smith, Marketing Director for Yodel, said: "It’s a fantastic achievement for Your Call to be recognised by the internal communications industry – and a credit to the small team within Yodel and at Pages Creative who bring it to life with their inspiring contributions. The magazine is a valuable way for our mobile workforce to receive information about the business while they are on the move, particularly during this critical time for the organisation."
Mark Lawrence, Partner of Pages Creative, added: "Yodel needed an easy-to-read magazine with a strong people focus to communicate its corporate messages. We’re really pleased that Your Call has been received enthusiastically by employees, who welcome its format, look, fun content and informed range of business and out-of-hours stories."
The majority of the writing for Your Call is done in-house, while the photography is a mix of commissioned work and supplied pictures, many of which were submitted by interviewees. There are nearly 50 Yodel employees pictured in the first issue of the 16-page magazine.
The Institute of Internal Communications’ Awards is the biggest of its kind in Europe, with the winners due to be announced on 29th September in Leeds. Your Call also won an Award of Excellence in the IoIC national awards in June 2011.
