DSV committed to assuring safety & quality for the Chemical Industry

Transport and logistics company DSV Road Limited's Purfleet location has once again achieved Safety Quality Assessment Scheme (SQAS) assessment, confirming the facility conforms to the highest safety standards.

This is the second time DSV Road Limited's Purfleet facility has been assessed, as SQAS requires all sites to be reassessed every three years.

SQAS is a tool to provide chemical companies assistance in the process of selecting service providers.

The SQAS assessment is based on factors including IT systems, policy documents and business procedures and includes two day assessment and site inspection by an external assessor.

Pez Hargreaves, DGSA/SHEQ Officer, DSV Road Limited said: "This certification helps us ensure we achieve best practice and document exactly what procedures we follow. We hope that this assessment will lead to continued and new business in the chemicals and hazardous goods sectors."

DSV facilities in Manchester, Bristol and Tamworth have also been SQAS assessed.

The Purfleet facility handles a wide variety of chemicals and hazardous goods.

The scheme was instigated by CEFIC - European Chemical Industry Council based in Brussels. It assesses the quality, safety, environmental and security management systems of service providers and provides a mechanism to evaluate continuous improvement.
