Hyster Europe will be showing the latest developments in container handling on stand D4 at TOC Europe (the Terminal Operations Conference and Exhibition) that takes place in Valencia, Spain from 8th to 10th June.
"Hyster has several product announcements to share with the ports and terminals community at TOC this year" explains Antoon Cooijmans, Big Trucks Product Manager for Hyster Europe.
Located on stand D4 - at the main the entrance of the TOC exhibition hall - Hyster Europe will greet visitors with a dedicated team of ports and terminals handling specialists. With a reputation for supplying a tough and dependable range of forklifts, empty container handlers and reachstackers, the Hyster team will be on hand to provide details of how Hyster solutions deliver significant cost savings and improved performance across a wide range of applications.
First to Offer AxleTech XTL Drive-axle in Europe
The most notable product announcement is the new AxleTech XTL drive-axle featured on Hyster's H16.00-22.00XM-12EC range of Empty Container Handlers and offered exclusively by Hyster in Europe in 2010. Tyre wear, a major cost for port and terminal operations, can now be reduced by as much as an anticipated factor of 3 for the front (drive axle) tyres, plus 1.5 for the rear (steer axle) tyres. This contributes to lowering the overall cost of running empty container handling operations.
"No other lift truck manufacturer has access to this technology across Europe" says Antoon Cooijmans, explaining that this is another example of innovation that maintains Hyster's reputation for dependability and low cost of ownership. A video and demonstration unit of the new axle will be on display at the stand for visitors interested in learning more about how this technology works.
New Heavyweight Forklifts
The Big Trucks team will also provide information on the recently launched Hyster H25-32XM range of heavy duty lift trucks, which includes seven new forklifts (including three short wheelbase versions) and two dedicated container handlers, spanning 25 to 32 tonnes lifting capacity.
"The new H25-32XM range is designed to offer a unique blend of high productivity, reliable proven components, fuel efficiency and outstanding driver comfort" adds Antoon. "They are versatile with excellent visibility and low operating costs". The forklifts include the 'dual-function' carriage with a 'quick-disconnect' for the forks enabling fast exchange between forks and attachments, and they feature load-sensing hydraulics that only provide maximum power when it is really needed, consuming less fuel with savings of 5% to 15%.
6-high ReachStackers from Hyster
For the first time at TOC, Hyster will also be launching the new 6-high reachstacker option, now available on the RS45-31CH, RS46-36CH and RS46-41LCH ReachStacker models. Fitted with a longer inner boom, these machines can now stack 8'6" containers 6-high in the 1st container row only. As standard, Hyster's ReachStackers also now include a Powered Sliding Cab for optimum visibility and a container weight display (also showing distance and height). Product specialists will be on hand to discuss these and further advances including a 10 km/h driving speed limiter on IH (Intermodal) models.
Laid Back Empty Container Handlers and New Engagements
Empty container handlers have also received numerous new options in addition to the new XTL axle, such as the new 'Lay-back' mast options on the H16.00-22.00XM-12EC. This allows the mast to be lowered back against the cab, to reduce the overall height of the truck and allow it to pass easily underneath overhead obstacles (e.g. bridges or pipelines) that are common in port environments, where previously the mast would have to be dismounted.
Another new feature is the improvement in visibility on the 'hooks and side-clamps' EC spreader options which is useful when the spreader is in the 20' retracted position and work lights have been repositioned. There is also a conditional driving speed limiter to a maximum of 10 km/h* on some versions and changes to engagements.
New Options for all Hyster Big Trucks
There are new options available across the entire Hyster Big Trucks range including an operator presence feature, where the engine is shut down when the seat is not occupied, to help reduce fuel consumption.
