The new leadership team of national delivery network Nightfreight is
being further strengthened with the appointment of logistics figurehead
Ian Smith as Chief Operating Officer.
With effect from 1 July 2010, Ian joins Nightfreight's Group Board led
by managing director Peter Louden and group finance director Ian
Horsfall to help spearhead ambitious growth plans for the next five
years.
In recent months, Ian has worked in a consultancy role with
Nightfreight. He brings more than 20 years' third party logistics
experience having held divisional managing director roles with some of
the world's leading brands, including Exel Logistics, NYK Logistics and
Tibbett & Britten.
He will assume overall responsibility for all Nightfreight's contract
logistics operations and its 'white glove' specialist handling service
Pacemaker.
Across the Group, he will continue his involvement in projects driving
the company's transformation in service excellence and profitability.

solutions to help improve service levels.

Ian's appointment forms an important part of the firm's future plans
explained managing director Peter Louden.
