A new industry survey has revealed that over a third of process and maintenance engineers are wasting vast amounts of their maintenance budgets because they do not realize that it is possible to purchase high performance, cost effective non-OEM replacement parts for their progressing cavity (PC) pumps.
According to the survey, over half of engineers always purchase 'genuine' parts from the OEM when maintaining their PC pumps, while a third are unaware that it is possible to buy alternative parts. With half of the survey respondents indicating that rising equipment maintenance costs are deemed a growing concern, these are surprising statistics.
Commissioned by NOV Mono, the survey set out to explore attitudes and approaches to maintenance within the water and wastewater industry. Quantative interviews were carried out with process and maintenance engineers from across the industry who gave their opinions on a strictly non-attributable basis.
